What Are The Top Breweries in Arkansas?
Arkansas is home to a lot of really cool places, but one thing that really stands out for us is the amount of incredible breweries we have here in our Natural State. We want to share with you some of our top favorites.
Diamond Bear Brewing Co.
Arkansas has stepped up to the plate with a lot of really great craft beer breweries. Diamond Bear Brewing Co. is a local brewery in the Little Rock area. This brewery was founded twenty-one years ago in 2000 by Sue and Russ Melton. Their mission was a simple one – to provide Arkansas with a beer that we could call our own. This was the first time Arkansas had seen a brewery in fifteen years. A fun fact is that Arkansas used to be called “The Bear State” before it became known as “The Diamond State” for all of the diamonds found here. That is where the name “Diamond Bear” comes from. This pet-friendly brewery has a great patio, an incredible selection of beers, both seasonal and non-seasonal, along with a great food menu.
Lost Forty Brewing
Lost Forty Brewing is located in the heart of Downtown Little Rock. Their mission is to create beers as wildly unique as the state that they are located in. Visit this unique taproom 7 days a week and experience their large, open space, or their unique outdoor patio. Don’t skip out on their incredible food while you’re there!
Ozark Beer Company
Our neighbors over in Rogers, Arkansas are home to one of our favorite breweries. In 2013, Ozark Beer Company was founded. In the past eight years, they have mastered a variety of seasonal beers. Their taproom is also open 7 days a week and you can find local food trucks serving up delicious meals for lunch and dinner. They also offer beers that are not just seasonal. These would include Ozark IPA, Ozark Cream Stout, Ozark Lager and our American Pale Ale. If you are in Northwest Arkansas, you have to stop by and try one of their local beers and their great local food options!
Fort Smith Brewing Co.
If you are looking for a brewery that truly encompasses the history of the city it is located in, and is tied to their community, look no further than Fort Smith Brewing Co. The owners, Quentin and Micah have their eyes set much further than just Fort Smith. The goal is to have a world renowned brewery that wins over the hearts of many with their incredible Fort Smith brewed beers. They are located in the heart of historical Fort Chaffee and they want to bring together a community by providing exceptional brews, and a great atmosphere. You can enjoy the many events they host, their lively patio, or even brew your own beer with the master brewers themselves. If you don’t have the time to stop in and see them, you can always order their beers for delivery Thursdays – Sundays.
Core Brewing Co.
You may have tried the holistic, hand-crafted spiked seltzer water known as Scarlet Letter, then you have had one of the prized possessions of Core Brewing Co. Core Brewing Co. opened its doors in September of 2010 by founder, Jesse Core. They truly take pride in being an Arkansas born and bred brewery. Stop by their taproom in Springdale and try one of their many beers, seltzers, or premium craft cocktails.
Stone’s Throw Brewing
Stone’s Throw Brewing is another local brewery here in Little Rock, Arkansas. It is the result of four men who met at a local brew club in the area. Theron, Brad, Shawn, and Ian were all home brewers who came together to open a local Taproom in downtown Little Rock at 402 E 9th St. as well as 3015 W Markham St Little Rock. Their passion is bringing together their community through beer and shared experiences. While many of their events have been temporarily put off due to Covid-19, they are still offering Pub Trivia every Thursday at 6:30pm. Grab a friend or two and head over to one of their taprooms. You’re sure to be impressed by their year round and seasonal beers!
