Things to do on Spring Break in Arkansas
Spring Break is here and with these unprecedented times, we are finding safe and fun activities for your family to enjoy while benign away from work and school. We are lucky to live in a state that is filled with beautiful scenery, and a lot of places to entertain all ages. Who needs a beach when you live in The Natural State?
Crystal Bridges is the perfect place for the entire family. This museum is not only filled with local and nationally recognized artists, but it is a place where your children can learn about famous artists and create art on their own as well.
Crowley’s Ridge is a beautiful scenic route to take your family on. “The ridge is actually an island formed by ancient paths of the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. Crowley’s Ridge extends for 200 miles from southern Missouri south through eastern Arkansas to Helena-West Helena.” Whenever you explore Crowley’s ridge, you will see forest, orchards, flat terrains, farmlands, and much more that the natural state has to offer. We live in such a diverse state, and this route will prove just that. Be sure to visit the Crowley’s Ridge State Park and learn the history behind Crowley’s Ridge.
Floating The Buffalo River is an incredible family outing or an event for friends to do together. This 153 mile river is filled with beautiful views and opportunities to float the river, hike on the trails, take a ride on a mountain bike, take in all of the Elk, go ziplining, or even camp overnight in one of their cozy cabins.

If you’re tired of being cooped up and you’re feeling adventurous, schedule a ziplining excursion with the BOC. This is a two hour zip lining adventure that goes over the Buffalo River Canopy. Don’t worry, you will have a guide with you at all times who will make sure you don’t miss out on any of the nature around you.

Load up the family and head over to Crater of Diamonds State Park. You can dig for real diamonds and on their 37.5 acre field with the world’s eighth largest diamond-bearing volcanic crater. The best part is that if you do find a diamond, you get to keep it!
Pinnacle Mountain is not only a great way to get in exercise, but the breathtaking view from the top is worth every step or rock climbed. There are 15 miles of walking trails and 7 miles of mountain bike trails as well. Whether you want to climb, ride, or just have a picnic with an incredible view, Pinnacle Mountain is a favorite for Little Rock locals.
Be a tourist in Your Own City
Hot Springs is full of fun activities for people of all ages. Here are just a few things you can do in your city.
- Spend the day on the lake; rent a boat or jet skis, or just grab a floaty and go to the cove.
- Bar hop downtown and try all of the incredible beer flights, like this one at Superior Bathhouse Brewery.
- Soak in the naturals hot springs
- Try your luck at the slots or the horse races at Oaklawn.
- Relax with a full spa experience at any of the bath houses.
- Visit Garvan Woodland Gardens.
The capital city of Arkansas offers activities for the entire family.
- Enjoy the Arkansas River trail.

We encourage you to find what makes the city you live in unique and become a tourist in your own town. Whether you pack up the family and travel across the state to somewhere you haven’t been before, or just enjoy the outdoors that you have experienced since you were a child, get out and make the most of this Spring Break. We live in such a unique state and we don’t need to book a flight to another state to enjoy our days off.
