Big Dam Bridge

The Big Dam Bridge is the longest pedestrian and bicycle bridge in the nation built specifically for that use. It spans 4,226 feet across the top of the Murray Lock and Dam. It soars ninety (90) feet above the Arkansas river to connect fourteen (14) miles of riverside trails throughout Little Rock and North Little Rock as well as 70,000 acres of city, county, state, and federal parklands. Hike, bike, rollerblade, or scoot across the bridge and wander the trails when you’re feeling the call of the wild.

Lake Willastein and Lake Valencia

Maumelle is home to two recreational lakes – Lake Willastein and Lake Valencia. Both of these lakes are surrounded by parks, biking trails, hiking trails, and picturesque wooden bridges. There are designated picnic areas at both lakes and you can also fish in either of the bodies of water. Lake Willastein is also the home of The Maumelle Veterans Memorial, which was formally dedicated in 2006.

Biking

If you love biking through woodland trails and parks, Maumelle is definitely the place for you. The city is home to the most extensive municipal bicycle trail systems in the state of Arkansas. Many of the trails offer access to wooded greenbelts. So strap on your helmet and get to riding!

Maumelle Country Club

If golfing is your thing, look no further than the Maumelle Country Club. Not your average country club, Maumelle Country Club is home to an eighteen (18) hole championship golf course. There are also tennis courts, swimming pools and a clubhouse available to members.

Urban Air Adventure Park

This indoor park houses pretty much any adventure activity you could imagine, and all in a family-friendly environment. They have ropes courses, climbing walls, a warrior obstacle course, virtual reality, wipeout, trampolines, an indoor tubes playground, and more! And if you get hungry or thirsty refuel at the snack stations.

Wild River Country

Wild River Country is a must-see if you live in Arkansas. The only full-size water park in the area and the largest water park in Arkansas, it offers 26 acres of attractions, including a wave pool, a series of slides and tube rides and a lazy river. There are also concession stands, food and drink kiosks, shaded lounging areas, tanning areas, and lockers to store your stuff. Rent a pavilion for a birthday party or special occasion. And in the winter the fun isn’t over – try the snow tubing!
