Knowing places of interests such as museums, state parks, or even the night life can make it more exciting. You can even use social media to get a feel for the city before you even move. Try apps like Yelp and UrbanSpoon to get user reviews for restaurants around the area. Geotags and hashtags are useful to see what places locals and tourist see in the city, which may become your new favorite spot in the city, outside of your furnished apartment.

Find a Community

Do you have a hobby? Anything from fitness, fine art, or food can give you something to look forward to. When you can find a community based on your passion it can make your transition easier in to furnished apartments. For those who love your health; try finding gyms or yoga studios to join.
